Champagne Saint-Chamant was established in 1930 by Pierre and Helene Coquillette. Their son, Christian, took over the estate in 1950. Elderly Monsieur Christian Coquillette is a firm believer in aging Champagne and it is hard to say how many bottles he has in his cellar. The domaine exploits 11.5 hectares of vineyards (almost exclusively Chardonnay) in Chouilly, a village classified as Grand Cru in the Côte des Blancs. The Saint-Chamant specialty is Blanc de Blancs. This champagne is of great quality, very ageworthy, with extremely fine bubbles. Dosage 5gms/L.
