2016 Crozes-Hermitage Clos de Grives Combier

Domaine Combier is an estate that is run by Maurice and Laurent Combier and farms organic fruit. The apricots and peaches were famous all over France. Clos Des Grives is the cru of the vineyard and sits next to Alain Graillot's Crozes-Hermitage vineyards. The site is mostly red clay and chalk with alluvial soils. He then ferments the wine in cement eggs and finishes by aging it in 25% new oak and 75% second and third passage oak for 12 months. The result is a rich, full-bodied accessible wine with hints of oak

2016 Fixin Humbert Freres

Emmanuel and Frederic Humbert took the reins of their family 6-hectare estate in 1989. They have been devoted to continuously improving the quality of their wines and remaining part of the Gevery-Chambertain community. It is here where they apply the combined knowledge and experience of their friends, family and neighbors with their own. The pair are complimentary to each other. Emmanuel is the driving force with unrelenting passion and dedication to the vines; Fredrick is the more reserved thoughtful type. Their methods put emphasis on manual labor and tending each vine, where ploughing and green harvesting are done with utmost care. The fruit undergoes a pre-fermentation soak to avoid over extraction of underripe tannins.

2016 Saint Joseph "Preface" Pierre-Jean Villa

Pierre-Jean, the former regisseur at Vins De Vienne, started his own Domaine five years ago, purchasing extremely classy and long established vineyards in the areas he knows best, that is to say in Seyssuel and St Joseph. The quality of his first full vintage in 2009 was impressive. Made from 100% Syrah, this is the estate's first wine. Rich and full bodied, this is a finely crafted wine with minerality and lots of spice.

2016 Savennieres "Clos de la Hutte" Thibaud Boudignon

Thibaud Boudignon has been producing rich, mineral-driven wines in Savennieres since 2008 but only recently began making wines under his own name. He has been the maître de chai for Château Soucherie since 2008, leading the estate to 100% organic viticulture. It is his love of expressive Chenin Blanc that led him to renovate a small cellar on the outskirts of Savennieres to make his own wines, working around 3.5 ha of vines on shallow soils of grey schist, volcanic soil and sand. He has been crafting wines with intense focus, shimmering acidity, rich texture and purity of fruit .
